Join us for a hand-drumming performance and workshop!
Percussionist Nanette Garcia, who's been directing percussion ensembles for over 20 years, and her all-women drumming group will play djembe, conga drums and other smaller percussion instruments in unique Afro-Cuban rhythms. Members of the group combine their diverse and interesting backgrounds with a deep love and commitment to drumming.
After their performance, the audience will be invited to participate in a mini-workshop and join the group in a drum circle, playing smaller percussion instruments.
Appropriate for all ages! Bring a hand drum if you have one.
