Program Description
Event Details
During the February break, students are invited to expand their critical thinking through the world of nonfiction!
They'll share a guided read-aloud of texts about animals, insects, and more, and then share their thoughts and jot notes in response to prompts that encourage questioning, analysis, and interpretation.
A simple sketching lesson to create related drawings will finish out the session, and students will take home their completed drawings labeled with their notes.
The workshop will be led by experienced teacher Olga Chousa:
- Grade 2 or 3: Tuesday, Feb. 18 (register below, on this page)
- Grade 3 or 4: Wednesday, Feb. 19 (register here)
- Grade 5 or 6: Thursday, Feb. 20 (register here)
All sessions run from 2 to 3:30.
